About the course
Today's motorsport engineers don't just need technical knowledge - the industry demands commercial awareness and the determination to succeed.
The MEng programme aims to produce graduates that possess engineering knowledge alongside the transferable skills of leadership, initiative, personal responsibility and decision-making.
You'll study subjects that you would encounter on a mechanical engineering course, but with a strong flavour of motorsport in their application. Some modules are specific to the course and relate closely to racing vehicle meaterials, manufacturing methods, IC engines, aerodynamics and electronics.

Working within motorsport offers an exciting career in a dynamic industry – and innovative engineering keeps it moving forward at pace. This specialist degree provides you with the technical knowledge and transferable skills to help you succeed at a senior level within the industry.
Your studies at Levels 1 and 2 are designed to ensure that you have a firm grasp of the theoretical and practical elements of the discipline. Level 3 is directly related to motor racing engineering and you’ll work on a major group project in your final year that replicates the environment within an engineering firm – helping you develop the collaborative skills you’ll need for the real world.
