Modern businesses demand an increasingly high-quality environment in which to work. The design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning, lighting and security systems are becoming more complex, efficient and sophisticated to meet this demand. This course covers all the fundamental elements of mechanical engineering and design and provides a background in subjects like electronics, electrical engineering, control, energy and environment.
The final year of the MEng is about broadening and deepening your knowledge and understanding of the discipline, to better meet the leadership needs of industry.
Aims
There is a rapidly expanding market for engineers who have the technological appreciation to respond to advances in building services engineering. This course aims to equip you with that appreciation and includes topics like natural ventilation of deep-plan buildings and the application of solar energy in buildings.
This course aims to produce highly qualified mechanical engineers with enhanced knowledge of building services and equipped with qualities and transferable skills for demanding employment in industry, commerce and public service where leadership, initiative, personal responsibility and professionalism are required.
